<p>The invention relates to a method and a computer readable storage device for diagnosing an induction system for an internal combustion engine, which engine is a multicylinder engine with at least two banks of cylinders, where the banks are provided with a common air intake manifold (26,27,28), and where a pressure sensor (11) is positioned in the air intake manifold (26,27,28). The method comprises the following steps: detecting a signal representing pressure pulses in the intake manifold (26,27,28) from the pressure sensor (11), calculating average values for the amplitudes of the inlet pressure signal over a predetermined number of cycles (nc), comparing the calculated value and a reference value and generating a difference signal, and generating a signal indicative of the state of the induction system. <IMAGE></p> |
