Buffer stage for flat workpieces - has workpiece holding frames on pivot mountings to hold workpieces in buffer stalk

The flat workpieces, e.g circuit boards, are moved along a flat conveyor (5) and enter the buffer stage (1) to be slid into a rectangular holder (14) held level with the feed. The holders are attached to sets of vertical rings (15) to swing from a pendant storage position under the conveyor, to a raised magazine position above the conveyor. The raised position has loaded holders. Workpieces are taken from the buffer magazine by swinging down the holders one by one into the flat position and releasing the workpieces to continue on the conveyor. The buffer has inlet- and outlet conveyors with height adjustment. USE/ADVANTAGE - Compact buffer store, can be inserted into flowline.
