The guide for a powered circular handsaw has a baseplate (1) in which is mounted a supporting turntable (2) with a locking screw (9). Fastened to the turntable on height adjustable pillars (4,5) is an L-section guide rail (3) against which the saw is guided. Alongside the guide rail on height adjustable pillars (7,8) is a second flat rail (6) which prevents the saw from tipping over. Running across the baseplate and turntable is an adjustable straight edge which acts as a stop for the workpiece.
