The time base control period of traffic light controllers is adjusted exclusively by respective controllers and real time adjusting is executed periodically using the time signal of radio broadcasting. The controller includes a RF receiver (1) for receiving radio signal, tone detectors (2,3) for detecting time signal in radio signal, a CPU (4) for adjusting period of time of day (TOD) and offset, a power controller (5) for operating the RF receiver (2) for a fixed time, a buffer (7) for sending period adjusting signal to a main control unit (9), a buffer (8) for sending period adjusting state signal to a display (10), a multiplexer (11) for enabling buffers (6-8) according to buffer enable signal generated by the CPU (4), and a frequency divider (12) for detecting clock signal using power.
