PURPOSE:To prepare a lithographic material capable of forming a printing plate superior in ink receptivity and printing resistance, and not causing ground staining, by adding a specified benzoic acid or its derivative to constituent layers of a lithographic plate material formed by a silver complex salt diffusion transfer method. CONSTITUTION:The compound used is represented by general formula I in which A is halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, amino, acylamino, or nitro, and n is 1-4, such as 2- mercaptobenzoic acid or its derivative shown by formula II or III. Said benzoic acid or its derivative is added by 1-200mg/m<2> to constituent layers of a lithographic plate material prepared by forming an emulsion layer of silver halide, preferably containing silver chloride >=50mol%, and a physical development nucleus layer using antimony, bismuth, or other metals as unclei on a support. |
