The present invention relates to a membrane gas separation module containing a multiplicity of hollow fibers in a bundle. The bundle is encompassed in a sleeve so as to improve the packing factor of the fibers and reduce the bypass factor of the module resulting in more effective utilization of the gas separation membranes.
