<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power saving treatment method for treating a hardly biodegradable organic matter-containing liquid, capable of efficiently and stably removing organic matter without producing a large amount of sludge, and a treatment apparatus for the method. <P>SOLUTION: This treatment apparatus is provided with a means for adjusting the pH of raw water to an acidic region, a mixing tank for briging raw water into contact with alumina, a reaction tank containing a photocatalyst, a pH adjusting tank for adjusting slurry-like alumina sedimented on the bottom part of the reaction tank and a dehydrator. The water, from which a high-molecular organic matter is adsorbed and removed by alumina, is brought into contact with the photocatalyst while a low-molecular organic matter remaining in water is oxidatively decomposed and alumina after adsorption is adjusted to a neutral region and dehydrated to be refluxed to the mixing tank. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
