Virtual display device and method of use.

A virtual display system is disclosed comprising a light source for emitting light (20), at least one area array deformable mirror device (24) and at least one lens (26) for creating a virtual image of each area array deformable mirror device (24). Each area array deformable device (24) is responsive to input signals and reflects portions of emitted light creating a display. The image of the reflected light may be rapidly changed or may be held constant to create a moving or stationary display as desired.
