PURPOSE:To prevent collision accident beforehand by making earlier the timing for giving warning calculated from a distance to an obstruction, relative speed to it, and a vehicle speed when it is detected that a driver's response speed becomes slow. CONSTITUTION:An obstruction 1 is detected by an obstruction detector 2, a vehicle travel condition is detected by a vehicle travel condition detector 3, and a driver's operating condition is detected by a driver's operating condition detector 4. A computer 5 makes calculation so that a condition in which warning is given by a warning device 6 is varied. For example, when it is detected that a driver's response speed becomes slow, a timing for giving warning calculated from a distance to the obstruction, relative speed to it, and a vehicle speed is made earlier. Thus, since the timing for giving warning is varied according to variation in the operating condition of the driver or traveling environment of the vehicle, the warning can be given properly and without delay without being affected by the operating condition of the driver to reduce collision accident, etc. |
