PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain the subject compound for medicines, agricultural chemicals by allowing a specific aromatic aldehyde, a cyano group-donative cyan compound and acetyl group-donating acetic acid esters and an anionic exchange resin to coexist in the presence of a lipase, etc. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic aldehyde expressed by formula I [R<1> to R<3> are H, halogen, 1-6C lower alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy, (substituted)aryloxy or R<1>, R<2>, and R<3> together may form a ring containing an oxygen atom; X is CH=CH, O, S or NH], a cyan compound capable of providing a cyano group, an acetic acid ester capable of providing an acetyl group and an anion exchange resin are treated with a lipase, immobilized product of the 1 lipase, a microorganism capable of producing the lipase in an organic solvent to simply and inexpensively provide the objective optically active aromatic cyanohydrin acetate expressed by formula II in a short time and high optical purification and high yield. |
