MATRIX FOR ELECTROCASTING FRESNEL LENS AND PRODUCTION OF METALLIC MOLD USING THIS MATRIX

PURPOSE:To provide the matrix for electrocasting suitable for mass production of metallic molds for molding Fresnel lenses and the process for production of the metallic molds by using this matrix. CONSTITUTION:The matrix 14 for electrocasting consisting of a conductive resin base material is first molded by transferring a metallic master 12 by a hot press forming method. The matrix 14 has a main surface 18 on which Fresnel lens patterns are transferred. The base material is exposed on this main surface 18. Electrocasting is then executed in an electroplating bath cell 24 and the metallic mold 28 for molding the Fresnel lenses is obtd. from a metallic layer 26 electrodeposited on the main surface 18 of the matrix 14. the metallic mold 26 and a transparent thermoplastic resin are then superposed on each other and the Fresnel lenses 34 are produced by the hot press forming method.
