A blender comprises a first portion 10 accommodating a motor 12 and a second portion 14 accommodating a transmission shaft 18, the first and second portions 10, 14 being connected, and the motor 12 and transmission shaft 18 being operatively connected. The first and second portions 10, 14 may be releasably connected to one another. The first and second portions may comprise first and second connectors 32, 42, respectively, which are rotatably engageable with one another to operatively connect the motor 12 to the transmission shaft 18. A hermetic seal 58 may be provided on the second connector 42. A third portion 16 may be provided which houses a processing tool 60 which may be operatively connected to the motor 12 via the transmission shaft 18. The second portion 14 may further comprise a third connector (46. fig 2) which is co-operable with a fourth connector of the third portion 16. The blender may be a hand-held blender and provided with two handles 22. |
