PURPOSE:To obtain a plastic film having a high adhesive strength and excellent abrasion resistance, surface wetting property and lubricating property and useful for sensor, etc., by graft-polymerizing a hydrophilic monomer to the surface of a film and forming hydrogen bonds between chains of the formed graft polymer. CONSTITUTION:A film substrate such as polymethylmethacrylate is prepared and the film is placed in a discharge apparatus and subjected to glow discharge treatment for 5 sec in argon atmosphere. The discharge-treated film substrate is exposed in air and then put in a test tube, and an aqueous solution containing a hydrophilic monomer (e.g. acrylamide) and crosslinking agent (e.g. N,N'- methylenebisacrylamide) is added thereto and air in the test tube is substituted by a nitrogen gas. The surface of the substrate is subjected to graft polymerization and an acrylic acid, etc., is added to the surface-grafted film and the monomer is polymerized by using a polymerization initiator such as ammonium persulfate. Hydrogen bonds are formed between graft polymer chains formed from an acrylic acid unit as a forming base of hydrogen bond to provide the objective plastic film having excellent surface wettability and lubricating property. |
