PRODUCTION OF FIBER COMPOSITE SHEET

PURPOSE:To uniformize thickness distribution and fiber distribution even when a fiber composite sheet is thin. CONSTITUTION:Reinforcing fiber bundles F1 consisting of a large number of continuous monofilaments are passed through a fluidized bed R of a powdery thermoplastic resin while they are brought into contact with three bars 4-6 arranged in the fluidized bed R in a freely vibratory manner and, by vibrating the bars 4-6, the opening of the reinforcing fiber bundles F1 is accelerated and the powdery thermoplastic resin is bonded to the respective monofilaments to be caught in the interstices thereof. The thermoplastic resin of the opened resin bonded fibers F2 is heated and melted to obtain a fiber composite sheet S.
