摘要 PURPOSE:To detect a minute angular velocity in high accuracy by providing means for applying vibration in the X-axis direction to a vibrating means with magnetism, for detecting the displacements of the vibrating means in X and Y directions, for applying vibrating force corresponding to the speed reduction of vibration, for operating the angular velocity based on the displacement amount in the Y-axis direction and so on. CONSTITUTION:Forced vibration is applied on a vibrator 14, which is freely vibrating in the X-axis direction, with a shaking means 16 at the approximately equal resonant frequency of the vibrator 1 in the X-axis direction. The amplitude of the vibration is kept approximately constant all the time. When an angular velocity (w) is inputted, the Coriolis force corresponding to the velocity is generated in the Y-axis direction. The vibrator 14 is also vibrated in the Y-axis direction. The displacement in the Y-axis direction is detected with a displacement detecting means 18. Then, an angular-velocity operating means outputs the input angular velocity. At this time, the displacement amounts in the Y-axis direction are accumulated in the free vibrating period. Therefore, the very large amplitude in the Y-axis direction in comparison with the vibrating gyroscope based on the forced vibration is obtained. Thus, the minute angular speed can be detected in high accuracy. Since the shaking of the vibrator 14 and the detection of the displacement are performed without contact, the accurate detection can be performed with the simple constitution.
