PURPOSE:To obtain the subject new substance, having antimicrobial and antitumor actions and expected as an antimicrobial agent or an anticancer agent by culturing a microorganism, belonging to the genus Streptomyces and capable of producing a substance HP530C2 and collecting the resultant product from a culture. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism [e.g. Streptomyces sp. HP530 strain (FERM P-2786)], belonging to the genus Streptomyces and capable of producing a substance HP530C2 is cultured in a culture medium at 30 deg. for 4 days by shaking culture to prepare a primary seed culture solution, which is then inoculated into a culture medium and cultured at 30 deg. for 4 days by shaking culture to afford a secondary seed culture solution. The resultant culture solution is subsequently inoculated into a jar fermenter and cultured at 30 deg. for 4 days by spinner culture with aeration and the prepared culture solution is then subjected to centrifuging and filtering treatment to immerse a cake containing the microbial cells in acetone and carry out extracting treatment. The obtained extract solution is subsequently concentrated and further subjected to extraction treatment with ethyl acetate. The extract is purified by silica get chromatography to afford the objective new substance HP530C2, expressed by the formula and having antimicrobial and antitumor actions. |
