PURPOSE: To excellently prolong the useful life of a roller by providing a hydrophilic material in a notch of an oleophilic metal layer. CONSTITUTION: In the manufacturing method for an inking unit roller surface with a hydrophilic surface and an oleophilic surface, an oleophilic metal layer 3 is provided on the metallic surface of a roller or tube, a notch 6 is formed on the metallic layer 3 to receive hydrophilic material, and a filling piece 8 having extremely high abrasion resistance is filled in the notch 6. The surface thus formed is worked so that the surface of the metal layer 3 may expose at the same height as the outer face 12 of the filling piece 8. The outer face 11 of the metal layer 3 is processed so that it may have a height lower than that of the outer face 12 of the covering body 10. When the metal surface is washed away or chemically removed, it can easily be built up to the target depth again. |
