Disclosed are a method and a system for providing a termination service using a paging function in portable Internet. The method for providing a data termination service used for reporting that a data termination request from an Internet network exists to a hybrid terminal supporting both a portable Internet service and a mobile communication service in an inter working system of a portable Internet network providing the portable Internet service and a mobile communication network providing the mobile communication service, includes the steps of (a) receiving the data termination request from the Internet network to the hybrid terminal and a wireless Internet connection identifier of the hybrid terminal, (b) determining by an inter-working termination server information about the hybrid terminal and a mobile communication identifier matched with the wireless Internet connection identifier, (c) determining location information about the hybrid terminal through the mobile communication network by transmitting the mobile communication identifier from the mobile communication network, (d) transmitting a paging message reporting that a data termination request from the Internet network exists to the hybrid terminal, and (e) transmitting the data after determining connection of the hybrid terminal and the portable Internet network. Accordingly, it is possible to inform a user of data termination and enhance a data termination probability, so that it is possible to enhance the satisfaction of a user for communication service. In addition, since the hybrid terminal may monitor only a data reception state from a mobile communication network in order to receive a message of reporting information about data termination, it is possible to reduce battery power consumption. |
