PURPOSE:To obtain the subject lightweight cord suitable for driving cord for valve of washing machine having excellent strength, creep resistance, weather resistance, wear resistance and cutting resistance by coating the surface of a core material such as filament of ultra-high-molecular-weight polymer with a synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION:The surface of filament of twisted yarn composed of a molecule- orientated molded article of an ultra-high-molecular-weight polymer having >=5dl/g intrinsic viscosity [eta] containing 0.1-20 alpha-olefins such as >=3C butene-1 based on 1,000 carbons on the average is coated with a synthetic resin such as polyolefinic resin, non-rigid PVC, acrylic resin or water-soluble polyurethane to give the objective cord. |
