PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition providing a foam suitable for medical use, cosmetic, etc., evolving no toxic substance, comprising an organopolysiloxane containing a vinyl group bonded to an Si atom, a catalytic amount of a polymerization catalyst and fine particles of an inorganic salt having water of crystallization. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100 pts. wt. organopolysiloxane of the formula (R is methyl, ethyl, vinyl or phenyl; (m) is 100-10,000 integer) containing 0.05-3.0mol% vinyl group based on organic groups bonded to a silicon atom on the average are blended with (B) a polymerization catalyst comprising 0.05-5 pts. wt. organic peroxide or 0.5-30 pts.wt. organohydrogen polysiloxane containing at least two hydrogen atoms bonded to silicon atom in the molecule and a catalytic amount of platinum or a platinum-based compound and (C) 0.5-15 pts. wt. fine particles (e.g. sodium sulfate) of an inorganic salt having water of crystallization to give the objective fomable composition providing a safe foam by heating and expanding without emitting a toxic substance. |
