BIOACTIVE IMPLANT AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of a metallic base body at the time of firing ceramics and to improve the density and strength of the ceramics by enhancing the bioactivity of the ceramics and attaining the lower-temp. firing of the material. CONSTITUTION:A bioactive ceramic material which has a non-calcium phosphate type compsn. consisting essentially of at least one kind of an alkaline earth metal oxide or alkaline metal oxide and SiO2 and can form HAP in an aq. soln. contg. P ions and Ca ions is used as the ceramic material of the bioimplant formed by laminating a ceramic layer on the metallic base body. In addition, the bioactive ceramic power is formed as fine powder having >=10m<2>/g BET value. As a result, the ceramic layer having the properties of <=1200 deg.C firing temp. and >=30MPa peeling strength is obtd.
