<p>PURPOSE:To provide an electric fusion joint wherein an energizing heat generating substance is embedded in a stopper as well as the inner peripheral part of a pipe socket. CONSTITUTION:A support rings 8 is fixed to the bottom part of a stopper part molding annular groove formed by intercoupling mandrel half bodies 6a and 6b. Energizing heat generating substances (covering energizing heat generating substances) 10 covered with an electric insulating layer of thermoplastic resin are wound in a helical shape around respective portions, ranging from the bottoms of the annular grooves to the height of the outer peripheral surface 6s of a mandrel 6, in two annular gaps formed between the side of the stopper part molding annular groove and the two sides of the support ring 8. The energizing heat generating substances are then wound in a helical shape in the directions of two ends along the outer peripheral surface 6s of the mandrel 6. The electric insulating layer of the wound covering energizing heat generating substance 10 is heated to temperature higher than a melt temperature to melt and fuse a surface in prior to inject thermoplastic resin for molding an electric fusion joint to fill with the resin.</p> |
