PURPOSE:To provide the subject material having high piezoelectric characteristics and optimum for an underwater transmitter-receiver which generates little noise. CONSTITUTION:Three kinds of PbTiO3 powders X, Y, Z different from each other in the average particle diameter are prepd. and PZT powder having the almost same average particle diameter as the powder Y is substd. for the powder Y. Equal amts. of them are mixed and the resulting powdery piezoelectric ceramic mixture is uniformly dispersed in an org. substance by 72-78vol.% and subjected to polarization treatment by impressing a prescribed high voltage. Reverse polarization is then carried out to obtain the objective flexible composite piezoelectric material whose piezoelectric constant d31 is practically zero. This material can remove noise due to d31, can enhance an S/N ratio, has a high piezoelectric constant dh and high sensitivity and is optimum for an underwater transmitter-receiver. |
