MANUFACTURE OF COMPOSITE ROLL

摘要

PURPOSE:To manufacture a composite roll securing the soundness at a joining part between an inner layer and an outer layer and in the outer layer by arranging preheating mechanism of an electrode just above molten slag bath and executing the preheating treatment to the electrode in a prescribed condition. CONSTITUTION:At the time of manufacturing the composite roll by arranging a columnar-shaped core material 2 in the inner part of the hollow-shaped consumable electrode 1 and remelting the electrode 1 by an ESR method to deposit the outer layer of the core material 2, the preheating device 7 is arranged just above the molten slag bath 4 to preheat the electrode 1 in the prescribed condition. The preheating device 7 is made to shaking heating type to give the electrode a rotating function.
