<p>PURPOSE: To avoid damage without fail during removal and baking of a molded product to which hydrostatic pressure is applied, in the manufacture of a ceramic hollow body with an appendage at its side, especially a cup with a handle. CONSTITUTION: In the first process, an independent cup of ceramic hollow body 10 without an appendage 16 is manufactured, and, in the second process, hydrostatic pressure is applied to ceramic slurry having fluidity and the appendage 16 is combined with the hollow body 10. To manufacture the appendage 16 of the hollow body 10 by application of hydrostatic pressure, a device is provided with a die unit 58 made relatively movable and a diaphragm 60 to load hydraulic pressure on slurry in a forming cavity 76. At least one of the die units 58 has a bonding area for the hollow body 10 which is made as a separate body. The forming cavity 76 has at least one orifice positioned in the bonding area. For abutment of the hollow body 10 at the bonding area, at least one support body 90 is provided.</p> |
