A pulse time width modulation Q-switching erbium:yttrimium aluminum garnet laser is provided to selectively oscillate a laser pulse having a short or long pulse time width by removing a 1/4 wavelength phase delayer. A pulse time width modulation Q-switching erbium:yttrimium aluminum garnet laser includes a polarizer(140), a pockels cell(150), and a quarter waveplate(160). The polarizer(140) polarizes linearly light generated from an erbium:yttrimium aluminum garnet load(120). The pockels cell(150) is located between the polarizer(140) and a total reflective mirror(131). The pockels cell(150) delays and penetrates incident light as long as a 1/4 wavelength phase if a voltage is applied. The pockels cell(160) penetrates the light without phase change if the voltage is not applied. The quarter waveplate(160) is located between the pockels cell(150) and polarizer(140). The quarter waveplate(160) converts and penetrates the linearly polarized light input from the polarizer(140) into circularly polarized light. The quarter waveplate(160) delays and penetrates the light input from the pockels cell(150) as long as a 1/4 wavelength. |
