The laminated armour comprises a first part (11) placed on the side from which the armour must resist an attack and a second part (12) which has the same extent as the first part, in which: i) the first part comprises a laminate of first metal sheets (1) having an average thickness (t2) and glued by interface layers (8) having a thickness (t1) between 0.4 t2 and 0.9 t2 and a Young's modulus of compression perpendicular to the layers which is less than 4 GPa; ii) the second part comprises a material which is more ductile than the metal of the first metal sheets and preferably comprises second metal sheets (2) which are glued to each other and to the first part of the armour (11) by an adhesive reinforced with "Aramid" fibres. <IMAGE>
