PURPOSE:To produce an optical fiber joining unit by which high accuracy optical coupling is facilitated and high reliability at fixed faces is ensured. CONSTITUTION:A pair of opposite optical fibers 12c, 12d are fixed between base tables 11, 15 at a prescribed interval in an optical fiber joining unit. The optical fibers 12c, 12d are prepd. by removing a part of the core 12a of a single optical fiber 12 at the parting position and an optical member for optically coupling the optical fibers 12c, 12d is formed at the removed part. |
