POSITION DETECTING METHOD FOR CORDLESS DIGITIZER

PURPOSE:To detect the correct position of a cordless digitizer even if a position pointer is obliquely set on a tablet. CONSTITUTION:A processing circuit 5 calculates the rough position data on a position pointer 6 based on the maximum induced voltage detected out of a reception coil (m) and also detects the minimum induced voltage levels e(m-n) and e(m+1) which are generated from the reception coils (m-n) and (m+1) set near the both ends of the coil (m). Then the circuit 5 calculates a holding angle theta based on the ratio set between both levels e(m-n) and e(m+1). Furthermore the circuit 5 corrects the position data based on a correction table showing the correspondence between the angle theta and the position correction data.
