PURPOSE:To estimate an apparent velocity vector (optical flow) on a two-dimensional plane at a high speed and with high accuracy by using local Fourier- transformation from a moving image projected onto the two-dimensional plane. CONSTITUTION:With respect to a moving image inputted form a camera 10, a local phase of a waveform expressing a brightness variation of an image in a certain time (t) of sampling points (x, y) set arbitrarily is found in a velocity vector generating device 12. Therefore, by allowing a dynamic image signal to pass through a space filter, a component varied by a frequency in the (x) axis direction and the (y) axis direction is extracted, and subsequently, a phase difference of a local area is detected, a frequency having the largest Fourier coefficient in the local area is selected, and also, by taking a difference to a phase of one frame before, a velocity vector is derived.
|
