PURPOSE:To allow a document preparation device to automatically restore a document without requiring an operator's instruction when a document having a logical fault such as the chaining of document data and an unclosed file is selected by a document table display due to another purpose such as calibration and printing. CONSTITUTION:An editing means 6 edits document data, a document selecting means 7 reads out information such as the document names of documents stored in an external storage device and displays a document name table so as to select one of the document names, an automatic defective document judging means 8 automatically judges whether the data arrangement of a document stored in the external storage device is correct or not and the document preparation device is logically consistent with a regulated document format or not, and a defective document restoring means 9 corrects the arrangement of the document data in a document having a fault to restore the document. |
