PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of the squeak of a deflection yoke or the like and to avoid from being displayed on a screen even when a non-television signal such as an audio broadcast signal is received. CONSTITUTION:The receiver is provided with a synchronism deflection processing circuit 23 extracting and outputting a synchronous signal from a received television broadcast signal and with a pseudo synchronous signal generating circuit 22 generating a pseudo synchronous signal and supplies the pseudo synchronous signal from the pseudo synchronous signal generating circuit 22 to the synchronism deflection processing circuit 23 when the non-television signal is received.
