PURPOSE:To establish a surface processing method for negative electrode plate, which can quickly remove a specific amount of cadmium admixture chiefly consisting of cadmium hydroxide which exists on the surface of negative electrode plate and which presents a cadmium negative electrode plate having a stable characteristic, for example, lesser dispersion and free from deterioration in the charging/discharging performance. CONSTITUTION:A nickel base board of sintered nickel porous body or three- dimensional nickel porous body fitted with a steel band prepared by subjecting iron to nickel plating is filled with an active material consisting of cadmium hydroxide, to fabricate a negative electrode plate, which is surface treated through an anode oxidation process by impressing a certain voltage in a nitric acid solution adjusted to a certain pH value. |
