<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the high-definition liquid crystal display device with picture elements which are made fine. CONSTITUTION:Plural image signal electric conductors 1 and scanning signal electric conductors 2 are provided crossing each other, picture element electrodes 3 and thin film transistors 4 which supply image signals to the picture element electrodes 3 provided in matrix at the respective intersections of the image signal electric conductors 1 and scanning signal electric conductors 2, and a counter electrode which applies a voltage to a liquid crystal material is provided at a part opposite to the picture element electrodes 3; and the image signal electric conductors 1 or scanning signal electric conductors 2 are coated with the picture element electrodes 3 across an insulating film. Then DC components are generated apparently in the longitudinal direction between the image signal electric conductors 1 or scanning signal electric conductors 2 and the picture element electrodes, so the DC components are not applied directly to a liquid crystal layer and the generation of disclination in the liquid crystal layer and deterioration in picture quality due to it are eliminated.</p> |
