PURPOSE:To determine an optimum recording light intensity with a smaller number of recordings by providing a recording light intensity changing means, a read signal temporary holding means and an optimum recording light intensity control determination means. CONSTITUTION:By the control of a controller 4, an optical output controller 6 sets a recording light intensity P1 corresponding to the light intensity which is x % reduced value of a recommended recording output value Pref recorded on a disk and a light intensity P2 which is x % increased value of Pref. A pickup 1 emits light beams with intensities P1 and P2 to an optical disk 7 and information is recorded. The information is read by the pickup 1, a maximum and a minimum values of read signal voltages are held by a peak holding circuit 2 and are supplied to a computing section 4c located in the controller 4 through an A/D converter 3. By this constitution, an optimum recording light intensity adjustment is performed with a smaller number of recordings. |
