The first stop part (14) has a slide path (18) with arrest positions (26), which runs in a plane parallel to that provided by the grip parts (12,10). The second stop part (16) with a slide pin (20) engages in the slide path of the first stop part and at least one of the stop parts is located in the plane of the slide path pivotable to the corresp. grip par. The pivotable stop part (14) is activated by a spring force in a pivot direction. The slide pin is retained by spring force in the arrest positions. USE/ADVANTAGE - For operating various kinds of surgical instruments, e.g. clamps, tongs, needle holders, etc., permitting the instrument to be arrested in various functional positions.
