The fertiliser spreader has distribution linkage with booms, or augers, exetnding a long way beyond a storage hopper, folding in the sideways or rearward direction against it for transit. The booms etc. are held in the working position by clamping members and are swivellable on a horizontal axis, extending in the travel direction. Positive locking members (222) engage between the boom linkage (213) and the machine frame (202), on the linkage folding, holding it parallel to the frame.
