The hang-up hook for the hand set (1) of a coin-box telephone has a locating support (2) connected to a housing wall (13) of a coin-operated telephone. A hook (3) is pivotably located in this support to pivot between two operating positions. The hook has a pin (11) connected to the pivot axis (8) and passing through a hole (12) in the wall. This acts on a switch inside the telephone. The hook is a U-shaped arm which encloses the support with two parallel legs (4, 5). The free ends (14, 15) of these legs take up the two operating positions. The hook legs are connected to each other via the pivot axis which fits into an elongate groove (18) in the support. ADVANTAGE - Inexpensive to manufacture and simple to assembly. Opening in telephone wall housing does not become blocked up.
