The movement limiter includes at least one limiting member (13,14) with an adjustable opening for the object (15) which moves axially through it. An adjuster (23,57) enables the cross-section of the opening to be adjusted with the limiter installed. The limiting arrangement can be rotated w.r.t. the object. The opening of the limiting arrangement is pref. adjusted during this rotational motion which operates the adjuster. USE/ADVANTAGE - For non-destructive materials testing appts., esp. eddy current or stray flux systems. Can be adapted in very short time to objects of different dia.
