A projector has an essentially afocal projection system, in particular for reproducing three-dimensional images. This system has a system of convex lenses arranged on the side of the object and a Fresnel lens (2) arranged on the side of the image. The lenses are larger than the transverse dimensions of the object to be reproduced. By providing a double reflection (3, 4), this projection system is enabled to generate, besides the usual two-dimensional images, a three-dimensional image ''positioned in space'' of a three-dimensional object whose sides are correctly perceived by an observer. Preferably, a plane mirror (3) is used for that purpose, as well as a beam splitter (4) which is inclined by about 45 DEG in relation to the main axis (5) of the system of convex lenses (1).
