<p>A disc driving apparatus comprising an optical head (6) as a record/reproduce means for recording information on and/or reproduce the same optically from a disc type recording medium (1); a feed motor (8) as a feed means for moving the optical head (6) toward the innermost or outermost region of the disc (1); a limit switch (21) as a detector means for detecting that the optical head (6) is placed at a first position proximate to the innermost region of the disc (1); and a butt member (26) as a positioning means formed to butt against the optical head (6) for limiting the motion of the optical head (6) at a second position in the innermost region of the disc (1). The speed of the optical head (6) being moved toward the innermost region of the disc (1) by means of the feed motor (8) is changed to a lower speed in synchronism with turn-on of the limit switch (21), and then the optical head (6) is brought to a halt at the predetermined position limited by the butt member (26), whereby the optical head (6) is placed exactly at the desired position. <IMAGE></p> |
