Cooling plate (1) employed in metallurgical units whose walls are subjected to high heat fluxes and especially in blast furnaces. The cooling plate comprises a component made of cast iron (3) of appreciably parallelepipedal shape and an unshaped refractory coating (4). This cooling plate comprises, on the one hand, a reinforcement (10) a part of which is intended to be embedded in the bulk of the refractory coating (4) and, on the other hand, a means (12, 14) for connecting the said reinforcement (10) to the cast iron component (3). <IMAGE>
