<p>A flow controlled irrigation device which automatically stops the flow of water to an area when that area has received a predetermined quantity of water and then redirects the water to another area is disclosed. The device includes an upwardly extending gate member (7) which defines a pair of passages (5,6) therein. A first (6) of the passages directs water to an area to be irrigated while the second (5) causes the water flow to bypass the area.
