摘要 In regeneration of a mixed-bed ion-exchange material in an external auxiliary vessel, the cation exchange material and the anion exchange material are gravitationally separated in the auxiliary vessel by a third component of the mixed-bed filter. This separation material does not take part in the ion-exchange process. Part of the regeneration process is carried on outside the auxiliary vessel and inside the filter vessel. This outward contra-flow regeneration is combined with a similar regeneration of a pre-filter located in the same vessel above a porous intermediate floor. This pre-filter consists of anion exchange material. The partial emptying of the auxiliary vessel immediately after the sepn. takes place well above its floor in the region of the separation layer. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in the regeneration of mixed-bed ion exchange filters. A high filtration quality is achieved with a low equipment cost, low operation costs and reduced consumption of chemicals.
