The two metallic rods (23, 25) have grooves (23e, 25e) on their facing sides and the insulating rod (27) is anchored in these grooves and has a middle section (27c) in the cross-section between the two groove mouths. The middle section (27c) in cross-section is so formed that the length of the part of the middle line of the insulating rod cross section (27) is at least 50% larger than the distance between the two groove mouths, or even at least 70%. The middle section in cross-section is bulged outwards at least on one side of a plane (31) running through the two groove mouths. USE/ADVANTAGE - For windows in many older buildings, with reduced heat exchange between the two metallic rods of the combined profile rod.
