PURPOSE:To easily produce alloy powder having excellent magnetic property and corrosion resistance by heat treating a mixture of rare earth oxide powder, transition metal powder and alkaline metal in the inert atmosphere and the nitrogen atmosphere at specific temp. each before performing wet treatment. CONSTITUTION:Rare earth oxide powder (oxides of Nb, Sm, etc., of about 1-50mu average particle diameter), transition metal powder (Fe, Co, etc., of about <=100 mesh particle size) and one of alkaline metal, alkaline earth metal and their hydrides (suitably granular metal Ca of about <=4 mesh particle size) are mixed. The mixture is heated in the inert atmosphere to 900-1200 deg.C for about 1-10hr to form it to porous massive matter. After the massive matter is kept in the nitrogen atmosphere at 300-600 deg.C for about 4-12hr, the heat treated material is put in water to give it wet treatment, such as agitating. Thereby rare earth-transition metal-nitrogen alloy metal powder is extremely easily obtained without passing through a complex process. |
