PRODUCTION OF DECORATIVE PANEL

PURPOSE:To obtain a decorative panel having a colored pattern perfectly synchronizing to the unevenness of a base material or embossed template by subjecting a paper impregnated with a colored or opacified thermosetting resin to hot-press molding along with the base material with an embossed pattern or to hot-press molding using the embossed template. CONSTITUTION:Impregnated paper obtained by impregnating decorative paper with a colored or opacified thermosetting resin is superposed on a base material having an embossed pattern and a cushion material is placed on the impregnated paper. The whole is subjected to hot pressing from above by a usual mirror surface plate. At this time, the protruding parts of the base material receives larger pressing force as compared with the recessed parts thereof and the thermosetting resin yet having flowability of the impregnated paper moves to the recessed parts of the base material. The colored or opacified resin becomes much in the recessed parts and little in the protruding parts and a colored pattern perfectly synchronizing to the uneven pattern of the base material is formed. Even when the aforementioned impregnated paper is superposed on the base material having a smooth surface and subjected to hot-press molding using an embossed template, the same result is obtained.
