PURPOSE:To enhance the storage stability of a developed color image, especially, the oil resistance thereof by providing a thermal recording layer containing an electron donating leuco dye and a specific electron acceptive compound on a support. CONSTITUTION:An electron donating leuco dye and an electron acceptive compound represented by formulae I, II (wherein (m) and (n) are an integer of 1-3 but not 1 at the same time) are compounded with an aqueous dispersion of a binder such as polyvinyl alcohol to prepare a coating solution. A predetermined amount of this coating solution is applied to a support such as fine paper and dried to obtain a thermal recording material having a thermal recording layer. As an embodiment of the electron donating leuco dye, there is a leuco compound of a dye of a triphenylmethane type, a fluorane type, a phenothiazine type or an auramine type. A filler, a surfactant and a hot-melt substance are compounded with the thermal recording layer of the thermal recording material if necessary. |
