PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal printer which always realizes high print quality (equal print density) without the influence of a variety of media. CONSTITUTION:The title circuit has a fixed image pickup sensor 2 that detects the print results printed on a medium with heating elements and a control circuit 4 that controls the energy supply in each dot unit by storing the information of the results detected by the fixed image pickup sensor 2 in each dot unit.
