POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE RESIN BOTTLE AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE:To obtain a polyethylene terephthalate resin bottle having excellent pressure tightness and self-supporting stability, also when a sparkling liquid is packed as contents into the bottle. CONSTITUTION:A polyethylene terephthalate resin bottle 1 is composed of a bottle main body 2, bottom 3 and mouth 4. The bottle main body 2 and bottom 3 are biaxially oriented while the mouth 4 is formed in non-oriented manner. The bottom 3 has a curved-face bottom 6 provided below the bottle main body 2 and hollow leg part 7. The bottle main body 3 can be self-supporting by the leg part 7. The lowest part of the curved-face bottom 6 coincides with a virtual spherical surface having the same diameter as that of the bottle main body 3 and the peripheral part of the curved-face bottom 6 above the lowest part is formed into a shape swelling outward of the virtual spherical surface. The leg part 7 is formed so as to be thicker than that formed in the virtual spherical surface because the leg part 7 is formed in the peripheral part of the curved-face bottom 6.
